Carbon dioxide pollution.
When CO2 is present more than the normal amount it works as a pollutant. So presence of excess carbon dioxide in atmosphere is termed as CO2 pollution.
Sources of carbon dioxide.
1. Burning of fossil fuel like coal, petroleum, gasoline etc which contain
Carbon as a major quantity and buring of this is a combustion reaction produces carbon dioxide.
Fuels of car, bus, taxi, airplane✈, heating system of home that powered by carbon containing fuels and different industries etc.
About 6000-6500 million tones of pollutant prduces by this way.
C + O2 ➡ CO2
2. Agriculture is another source of this pollutant. Germination of seeds, burning of agricultural wastages, and that produced by bacteria is almost 2000 milion ton per year.
3. Decay of dead animals, A lot of animal dies in different reason every day. After a time being the daed body start to decay , animal cell contains carbon and decay occued by the bacterias. Bacterias brock the cell organisms and produces CO2 as a by product.
4. Eruption of volcanoes, befor the existence of human the earth was so much unstable in weather, the environment was too rough .
Natural disaster like Earthquakes, storms etc. was commomplace as a result a lot of substance on surface submerged under the ground.
At a time being they converted into different substances as there is a great pressure and tempurature.
When this hot substance comes out with lot of gases they add a lot of CO2 gas to the atmosphere.
5. Respiration of living animals, respiration is process where animal body produces energy by burning carbohydrates.
As carbohydrate is a carbon compound by burning this compound animals get a lot of energy which helps it to continue biological activity.
Carbohydrate+O2 ➡CO2 + H2O+energy
5. Forest fire, forest fire may be reffered as another natural disaster where lot of CO2 is added to the natural environment.
A large forest fire occured in 2019-20 in amazon.
Green house effect & importance on environment.
Obviously Sun is the great source of energy if it becomes disapper then it is not possible to lead life on earth.
Sun radiates energy as different kind of rays like UV, infrared etc. A great layer which prevent UV like harmful rayes to entire into the earth surface is known as ozone layer. Only short wavelenghth rayes (infrared ) can pass through the surface.
The infrared ray has a action which can heat the earth surface and the substances which are on the surface radiates infrared of longer wavelength.
There are some molecule in the atmosphere which doesnt permit the infrared to go out of the earth.
This molecules are known as green house molecue( as they works like green house that actually used in winter principle countries.
It is seeen that about 49% of this work is done by CO2 molecule.
For this reason CO2 molecule is reffered as a great green house molecule.
If the molecules does not absorbs the energy then the earthe surface will become lower in temperature. That is not possible for human being to live in.
But what is actually happening is the temperature is increasing day by day which causes melting of ice burges.
It may lead to increase of sea level and submerge low laying areas.
Consumers of carbon dioxide.
The major consumers of carbondioxide is plants and ocean.
Green plants takes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to prepare their food by the photosynthesis process.
Ocean takes carbon dioxide to produce carbonate rocks .
Controlling of carbon dioxide
Consumers of carbon dioxide are ocean and green plants we cant increase the ocean because our habitate is on the surface of earth but we can plant more trees and prevent deforestation.
Nowadays a lot of researce are on process which are works on liquefying the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and use this on necessary sectors.
If it will sucessful then we will be able to manage carbon dioxide on our necessary sectors without producing over again.
